CHRIS A. TESSAS
Chris A. Tessas was born in Athens in 1976. In 1994 he studied French literature, history and sociology at the Faculté des Lettres et des
Sciences Humaines in Université Nancy 2. In the period 1995-2000 he studied architecture at the École Nationale Superieure d’Architecture Paris-Villemin
in Paris, France and acquired his Masters degree in Architecture, in 2002, from the École Nationale Superieure d’Architecture Paris-Malaquais in
cooperation with Université Paris 1, Panthéon Sorbonne majoring in Theory and History of Architecture. At the same period he published two academic
mémoires entitled “Une Maison Moderne: Historiographie et Interpretations” and “La version moderne du vernaculaire.” In 2003 he was awarded the Diplôme d’
Architecte Diplômé par le Gouvernement (D.P.L.G) title and was called to participate at the Programme for the Rejuvenation of Facades at the Municipality
of Athens under the framework of the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. His designs have been exhibited in Paris, New York, Palermo, Thessaloniki,
Corfu and Athens. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and a PhD candidate at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School
of Architecture. Since 2005 he has established the architectural practice ZEREFOS TESSAS ARCHITECTS with Stelios C. Zerefos with whom they
designed numerous projects and won two major architectural competitions in Greece. The first one consists of housing units for the fire
victims after the extended wildfires that took place in the Peloponnese in 2007, while the second one concerns the New Municipal Theatre of Corfu.
